Who we are

Prem Illam is one of the units of Prem Charitable Trust. The object of this charitable trust is to give child-care; it means to look after the physically and mentally challenged and less fortunate children irrespective of caste and religion.

Prem Charitable Trust has established Prema Vasam a home for special and school children at Gerugambakkam, Chennai since 1999. Prema Vasam renders its humanitarian services free of charge to nearly 200 deserving children.

Since the number of children is increasing day by day and in order to serve these children have started Prem Illam as a home for girl children at Sirunallur Village in Maduranthakam.

Activities

Our special needs children make ‘threaded envelopes’ with the help of ourspecial educators and other postal envelops which we make use of in our office as well as in our other homes.Our children also make simple beaded necklaces.

Garden Activity

Our special also involve in garden activities such as watering the plants and pouring manures for the plants, we maintain our garden with organic manures and we prepare compost manure and vermin compost.

Picnics

Once in a while we take our children for a picnic mainly to a nearby beach in Kadalur Gramam a peaceful and calm beach where our children enjoy playing inthe water.We also take them for a movie outing and to temples.
